The Lux1540TM Fractional laser head developed by Palomar has revolutionised the methods of laser skin regeneration. Fractional laser reduces scars, stretch marks, large pores, melasma and firms the skin. Laser’s great advantage is that it combines high efficacy with a minimum recovery period. In the case of photoaging, results are already evident after only one session. Scar reduction is revolutionary, with the first session taking place right after the removal of stitches!

A Palomar Lux 1540(TM) treatment can be performed on any skin region that the patient wishes to have regenerated.

Course of the treatment:
Treatment performed under anaesthetic is more comfortable. The skin is cleansed and then Lux 1540TM head is applied to it and in one short impulse introduces a total of 100-320 light microbundles emitted in a fraction of a second, felt as one impulse.
Lux 1540TM fractional laser generates energy in the form of light microbundles and introduces it into the skin, to the depth of 1.5mm. Thus, in a controlled way, we damage selected regions of the epidermal and dermal regions. In place of the damaged dermal cells, a new healthy tissue forms. Each session is preceded by a medical consultation and examination, during which the doctor adjusts the number and frequency of sessions to the skin’s needs. During and after the treatment, the patients may feel a slight discomfort. It is sometimes recommended to take mild pain-killers.
A single session usually lasts less than an hour. Depending on the patient’s skin condition, 3 to 6 treatment sessions in 1-4 week intervals may be required to achieve the desired outcome.
Please note that as little as one session improves skin condition a lot!

Post-treatment recommendations:
– skin redness may persist for up to 2 days
– small scabs, concealable with make-up, can persist for up to 2 weeks
– use healing UV screen creams which accelerate skin regeneration

Counter-indications:

• skin neoplastic diseases
• current therapy with steroids, isotretinoin (Izotek, Curacne, Aknenormin) and retinoids (Roaccutan, Accutan)
• taking photo-sensitising herbs and drugs, such as: marigold, bottlebrush, St. John’s wort, antibiotics, antidepressants
• photodermatoses
• cosmetic treatments performed, such as peeling, wrinkle filling with hyaluronic acid (4 weeks)
• chronic inflammatory dermatoses (psoriasis, atopic dermatitis) or inflammatory skin conditions
• viral and bacterial infections
• tanned skin, use of bronzers and self-tanning creams
• other laser or IPL/VPL treatment in the same area in the last 6 weeks, such as epilation
• pregnancy
• impaired body resistance

The first effects of the treatment appear after 2-3 weeks. Afterwards, the skin quality improvement effect enhances with time. Effects of treatments to reduce scars after surgeries, burns, acne and stretch marks are permanent. Once the discolourations are removed, the effects depend on the cause and regular high protection UV screen application. In terms of improved skin tension and firmness and wrinkle reduction, longevity of the effects depends on the rate of skin aging in a given patient. In this case, booster treatment sessions, once or twice a year depending on the skin type, are recommended.
The depth of wrinkles and stretch marks can be reduced from 50 to 98%. Photographic documentation is made prior to each treatment session.

Palomar Max Deep IR - thermolifting

Cellulite removal and skin firming. Compared to Lux 1540™ fractional laser, it works deeper – up to 4mm into the skin! It is used to strongly firm the skin and fight cellulite. The advantage of this method resides in its non-invasiveness ensuring safety and no infection risk.
This is a treatment you can do during a lunch break, as it leaves no injection marks or bruising. Once it is done, you can return directly to your daily activities. The treatment can be performed on any skin region. Partial outcome is visible directly after the treatment (shortening of collagen fibres), the remaining effects increase with time (fibroblasts are stimulated to secrete collagen and elasting, and the skin is reconstructed).
What is also important is that areas such as those under eyes, ear lobes and other small and poorly accessible areas can be firmed this way.

Course of the treatment:
Max Deep IR laser is applied to the skin. This way deep skin layers are heated with infrared radiation reaching as deep as 4mm. The light is applied to the skin in fractions, i.e. columns. Heated columns form areas of deep heating, thus stimulating the skin’s natural reconstruction mechanisms consisting of production of new collagen. This results in a firm and smooth skin.
For cellulite, we apply very high energy – up to 300 J/sq cm – to the tissue. This makes fat cells dissolve and collagen fibres more constricted. Strong energy breaks fat cells, and in advanced cellulite it tears the fibrous stays entwining the diseased fatty tissue. This allows combined fatty tissue removal and skin stretching. During the treatment, an improved contact cooling function ensures comfort of the epidermis and upper dermal layers. The patient can feel a slight discomfort in the form of heat sensation during the treatment. The procedure takes 30 to 60 minutes.

Post-treatment recommendations:
Directly after the treatment, the skin can be reddened and hot. These symptoms pass very quickly. The patient can return directly to his or her daily activities.

Effects of the treatment can already be noticed after the first session, however usually 3 to 6 sessions in 2-week to 1-month intervals are recommended. It is an alternative for surgical treatments. To maintain the effects, the treatment should be repeated once or twice a year.
